Python Mutability and Immutability

Mutability and immutability is one important feature of Python object. The value of an object container that can not be changed directly is called an immutable object. While the value of an object container that can be changed directly is call a mutable object. Since, the mutability and immutability of an object can only be determined by the type of an object specified. Therefore the mutability and immutability of an object remains unchange once the identity has been created.
In fact, both immutable and mutable objects are always locked to a specific identity that can never be changed. However, for a mutable object, the child objects can be changed independently without altering the identity of their parent mutable object.

Python Mutable Object

The object value assigned to an object identity can be changed if an mutable object is created. Although the child objects can be changed independently, the identity of child objects always change as an immutable object accordingly.

Python Immutable Object

The object value assigned to an object identity cannot be changed if an immutable object is created. However, the return value of an immutable object may also be changed if an immutable object is with reference to a mutable object that can be changed although the reference value contained in the immutable object remains unchange.
